Hello everyone! Saturday was a perfect day for the cider mill.
The Outside – today being Marigold Monday we will be talking about the outside. I am very excited to be sharing this good news about the rose garden. Finally, I think I have actually found a perfect spot but only time and mother nature will tell. You see my father was a rosarian (a person who cultivates roses especially as an occupation) but his was not a profession he just loved roses. He built
a white picket fence and arbor that surrounded our front yard. People driving by would stop and see all the roses especially the double blooms. The color and fragrance were unbelievable. Our home was just a small ranch but it looked like an enchanted cottage. To this day I cannot grow a rose that lives. How disappointing this is so I am going to try again and again until I get a rose garden that will look almost as awesome as my dads.
The Rose – I have finally come to the conclusion that roses are really self sufficient. Basically, all they need is a good sunny spot, and water – oh and coffee grounds rumor has it.
The Rosarian – I never knew what a rosarian was and that they even existed until one day Maurice and Marilyn showed up at the YMCA to help us with our rose beds. He belonged to a rosarian club locally right in St Clair Shores. Have you ever noticed that when people love plants and nature how kind hearted they can be. Maurice and Marilyn were just that -generous with their knowledge and their hard work. When winter was approaching they would tenderly put the roses to bed for the season with a love and a willingness to help. I can tell you I truly valued their giving spirit and have never forgotten what they did. It inspired me to past this on to others when they are in need of help.
Do you like roses? Do you have a rose garden? I would love to hear all about it and would welcome all your comments and suggestions at http://www.andwineknot.com or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
See you soon❤️ Dana
